A peek at the plan for Urban Fusion Community Garden.

Previously at NAC: The Urban Fusion Community Garden needs your support.

Following is a statement of progress currently being made toward realizing a community garden on Culbertson Avenue, as submitted by chief organizer Michele Finn, who also notes Urban Fusion's fund-raising needs to get its opening phase under way.

Above is a rendition of the garden, as created by Christina Pfau. According to Michele, "There may be some slight changes but it is a great example of what can be done with the space we have available."

We'll continue to post updates here.

Nice overall, but I'd suggest reversing the plan so that the plants are more visible from Culbertson and the Emery's building less so. In keeping with the historic streetscape and general neighborhood fabric, it's a small, auxiliary structure and shouldn't be placed in a primary position. Besides, I think visible gardening activities will attract more interest than the building.
