Cabin at the Riverfront Amphitheater, tonight: Great young band, free admission, and locally brewed craft beer.

The crew at Thorpe Woodworks is really excited by this one.

Aside from the layered sound and melodic sweep of Cabin's music, the thing that sets them apart from other bands is the more thoughtful, perhaps more sophisticated, lyrical content. There is definitely a theme running through the new album, which gives it the heft of a cohesive piece of art, rather than just a random collection of songs -- Louisville.com.
A selection of New Albanian Brewing Company beers will be on tap, and we plan on beginning roughly an hour before the start time, circa 6:30 p.m. There's by wine from River City Winery, and snacks from an undisclosed weenie wagon.

As always, while you're downtown, plan on visiting visit one or more of the many dining and drinking establishments, before or after the show. As a reminder, tonight (5:00 p.m.) is the opening of Habana Blues Tapas Restaurant. It's also the end of the run for the current incarnation of Studio's, and Trish is going out with a party (music by Waiting for Dave) as she searches for a new location to bring back the bar. Good luck!

Cabin has been my favorite local group for a couple years. They get a lot of play on WFPK. If you like indie music, you’ll love this band.

Dueling Grounds Cafe is hosting a dinner tonight as well, reservations are required. It's a variety of fresh sandwiches, cole slaw and a drink for $10. Space will be limited, so call early!

So assume that one has plans this evening and can't make it...do we have anyone on our side of the river that would sell the band's CD? Destinations?
