Far better photos from yesterday's Obama visit to New Albany.

That's because I didn't take them. They're either by an anonymous donor or TS. First up is an excellent view of Floyd County party chairman Randy Stumler.

The remainder are of the guest Senator from Illinois. Pick Barack, or select Hillary, but one thing's crystal clear: The GOP catastrophe of eight years running bears immediate correction. Show trials, anyone?

Does Randy Stumler's appearance mean he is endorsing Obama?

You are joking aren't you, EW?

ecology warrior said...

no, we democrat primary voters would like to know, has he endorsed Obama?

He was asked to make the introduction, and I imagine that protocol would dictate such given that he's the local party chairman. There were several local politicos in the audience who reportedly are in the Clinton camp.

It would seem rather useless to hoist Randy Stumler on this point when a far more relevant question would be why he doesn't publicly endorse policy positions right here at home.

You have that right roger, Randy Stumler never seems to commit to any policy position. There is a party reorg. next year, might be time to replace him as chairman

I would have thought that EW and another "Randy" may have made the trip to see McCain.

That's no concern of mine, seeing as I'm not a card-carrying Democrat. It's simply ironic to see a grassroots party chairman praise the national party for taking critically important issue positions, yet consistently refraining from doing the very same thing right here at home. Surely Iraq is vitally important for all Americans, but isn't the absence of meaningful rental property regulation important for all New Albanians?

Someone? What's the difference?

sorry to disappoint you hoosier but I will be voting in the democrat primary for clinton and if you check my voting record you will see that I vae voted in the democart primary for many years, by the way Stumler was quoted as saying Obama had been " fighting for over two decades for working class families." sounds like an endorsement to me.

typo, should say democrat party and have voted. I know how some are quick to point out typo errors on this blog

So what if Stumler is supporting Obama? I had credited you with more intelligence than to ask such a question, hence my "joking" query. 99% of us would assume that the local Chairman would appear with either candidate.

I stand corrected.

Hey folks, this was a big deal event and the debate is on who Randy Stumler did or did not endorse? Any thoughts on anything else that happened yesterday????

B.W. Smith said...

Yes - it was nice to meet you, John, at the event yesterday.

Brandon, great to meet you as well!

To answer your question Roger, my take is that the effect the Iraq issue may have on New Albany/Floyd County is out there somewhere in the mists of time future.

However, to take a stance one way or the other on a local issue, any local issue, can presumeably have a near immediate effect, either positive or negative, on ones election/re-election agenda.

Apparently none in either party have the cajones to take such a brash risk!

RAB, perhaps Mr. Stumler was doing a little grandstanding as political types are prone to do from time to time?

Or maybe he is just like many of us who think that Sen. Obama is the real deal.

BTW - nice shot of Richard.
