California's Coffee House returns, adds full menu of Mexican meals.

There never was a clear explanation as to why California's Coffee House closed as abruptly as it did six or so weeks ago, but it's back up and running at the same location, 1515 E Market Street, and with full Mexican meals now included on the bill of fare.

As you can see, there are banners aplenty. The new food menus are posted on the windows in front, along with the hours:

Since the business opened in March, it's gone through more than a few changes even before it briefly disappeared, but let's hope California's is back for good. The neighborhood needs it.

This is great news. The only bad news is that they don't have any early morning hours. I scheduled a client meeting there once for 7:30am on a Friday, due to the pleasant atmosphere and wireless interent. Upon arrival, I realized they didn't open until 9:00am.

Now, it seems they don't open until 11:00am.

I understand that probably not a lot of people want mexican food for breakfast, but sadly, it seems they are missing out on all of the early morning coffee drinkers on their way to work.

But, hopefully, they know their target market and audience, and these hours are spot on for that.

Established coffee shops do 50% of their business before 10 a.m.!!

I think this must be a Mexican food place that happens to have a coffee bar, now. Still, I wish them much success...and consistent hours.

Wonder if they'll deliver? That could be a big extra source of revenue.
